Getting Fit as You Work at Your Desk All Day

Spring is around the corner, soon the heavy layers of clothing are going to have to come off. For those who keep irregular working hours and work at your desks all day long like our call centre agents, do not worry, we understand the struggle. Being a call centre agent does not mean you should give up on becoming healthier.

1. Stretch

Can’t leave your desk for too long? Why don’t you stretch? Touch your toes. March an in place or take a walk to the restroom, just not to the kitchen to get that last slice of pizza.

2. See lifts and escalators as the enemy

Walk to every place that you need to be at. When you come in to work in the morning, take the stairs, do the same when going and returning from lunch. Not only will this help you burn off extra calories, but it will keep you energised and revitalised.

3. Wake up earlier

One of the easiest and most convenient ways to work exercise into your life is with an exercise DVD. There is a wide variety of EXERCISE videos on the market, from yoga videos, salsa and other dance DVDs. You will be spoilt for choice.

4. Set an alarm

Set reminders on your cell phone or computer to remind you to stretch or take a quick walk around the office block to keep fit.

5. Hydrate!

Buy a reusable water bottle and refill it with water. Remember to drink an average of 8 glasses a day. You can have fun with this too. Instead of having plain water, you can flavour it with lemon or cucumber.
